Angelina Jolie Reiterates Support for Gaza
Jolie, who served over two decades as a goodwill ambassador and special envoy for the UN refugee agency (UNHCR), shared a post in which the humanitarian group described Gaza as a “mass grave for Palestinians and those helping them.”
The report highlighted that “as Israeli forces resume and expand the their military offensive by air, ground and sea on the Gaza Strip, forcibly displacing people and deliberately blocking the essential aid, Palestinian lives are one once again being systematically destroyed.”
It warned that Israel's attacks significantly endanger humanitarian and medical workers operating in Gaza.
The group urged Israeli authorities to immediately end the siege on Gaza and ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians, along with aid and healthcare personnel.
Additionally, the post called for the restoration of a ceasefire.
Since October 2023, at least 51,000 Palestinians—mostly women and children—have been killed due to Israel’s intense military campaign on Gaza.
In response to the ongoing conflict, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants in November for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Israel is also facing genocide charges at the International Court of Justice.
