Syria encounters turning point with sanctions relief
the US Treasury Department released on Friday a comprehensive permission to financial dealings with the temporary Syrian government, the central bank, and state-run companies. The measure covering a waiver of almost 6 months which falls under the Caesar Act, a US legislation that sanctions the ex-Syrian government, as well as ex Leader Bashar al-Assad.
After the statement was released, Asaad al-Shibani, Syria's foreign affairs head, stated on X (formerly known as Twitter) that "more achievements" will happen in the approaching months after Western decisions. Additionally, he said that "Syria and its people deserve a great standing, a prosperous country, and representation worthy of them on the international stage."
