Trump Warns Putin is ‘Playing with Fire’
Trump's comments reflect rising alarm over Moscow’s ongoing military actions.
Trump emphasized his pivotal role in restraining Russia in the past, stating that Putin may not understand that “if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD.”
The implication was that his previous leadership had deterred more severe consequences for the Kremlin.
This latest statement builds on Trump’s earlier remarks from Sunday, when he strongly condemned Putin, asserting the Russian leader had "gone absolutely CRAZY" following three successive nights of aerial assaults on Ukrainian targets.
The repeated strikes appear to have heightened Trump's concern.
Trump also expressed bewilderment over the recent changes in Putin’s conduct.
Despite their historically amicable rapport, Trump remarked, “I’ve always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him.”
His confusion signals a shift in perception regarding the Russian leader's current state of mind.
In response to Trump's critiques, Kremlin representative Dmitry Peskov dismissed the president's declarations as nothing more than “emotional overload.”
Peskov’s reaction appeared aimed at minimizing the gravity of Trump’s accusations while defending Putin’s actions.
