Russian Prosecutor Visits Laos
(MENAFN) Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov arrived in Laos on Tuesday evening to engage in discussions aimed at boosting cooperation between the law enforcement bodies of both nations.
The relationship between Russia and Laos has remained strong since the Soviet era, with Moscow traditionally providing Laos with military equipment and technological support.
During his visit, Krasnov is set to hold talks with his Laotian peer, Xaysana Khotphouthone, alongside other key officials and the Russian ambassador to Vientiane, Vladimir Kalinin.
The meetings are anticipated to culminate in the signing of a strategic plan outlining future collaborative efforts.
Earlier, Khotphouthone met Krasnov during his visit to Russia in September 2024, where they deliberated on creating a legal framework to enable free education for Laotian students at Russia’s Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok.
As part of his Southeast Asia itinerary, Krasnov also visited Cambodia on Tuesday.
There, he met with King Norodom Sihamoni and formalized partnership agreements with Cambodia’s Justice Ministry and Prosecutor General’s Office.
