Salesforce Plans Acquiring AI Firm Informatica
(MENAFN) In a recent announcement, U.S.-based tech firm Salesforce disclosed its plans to purchase Informatica, a trailblazer in enterprise artificial intelligence-driven cloud data administration, for a total of USD8 billion.
The deal was confirmed in a statement released on Tuesday.
As part of the agreement, Salesforce will pay Informatica’s ordinary shareholders USD25 per share in cash.
This transaction aims to enhance Salesforce’s core data structure, facilitating the rollout of sophisticated and ethically responsible agentic artificial intelligence technologies.
Marc Benioff, the Chief Executive Officer of Salesforce, remarked, “Together, Salesforce and Informatica will deliver the industry’s most comprehensive, agent-ready data platform.”
He emphasized that integrating Salesforce’s Data Cloud, MuleSoft, and Tableau tools with Informatica’s top-tier data governance abilities will enable independent AI systems to produce more intelligent and secure outcomes.
This combination, he added, will significantly fortify Salesforce’s standing in the enterprise data landscape, an industry valued at over USD150 billion.
Overall, the acquisition is projected to solidify Salesforce’s leadership in AI-centric business technology services.
