Indonesia, France Forge Stronger Ties
Following their meeting, Prabowo announced at a joint press conference, "Today, we agreed to advance further by adopting a shared vision toward the 100th anniversary of Indonesia-France relations by 2050."
Both nations committed to deepening defense cooperation, emphasizing the development of human resource capabilities. Economically, the leaders emphasized the importance of fostering more balanced trade and investment relations.
Prabowo highlighted, "In various fields, our ties are growing stronger, particularly in energy transition, food security, free nutritious meal program, and maritime affairs."
He also noted improvements in bilateral cooperation across culture, the creative economy, transportation, and education sectors.
During Macron’s visit, a total of 21 cooperation agreements were signed or presented, underscoring a strong dedication to partnership. These accords cover a wide array of areas, including defense, agriculture, critical minerals, sustainable forestry, creative and cultural industries, disaster risk management, transportation, and sports.
