Czech Special Aircraft Transports Over Sixty People from Israel

(MENAFN) A Czech military special aircraft transporting 66 evacuees from Israel touched down early Tuesday morning at Prague-Kbely Airport, Czech Defense Minister Jana Cernochova confirmed, assuring that all passengers are unharmed.

The Ministry of Defense clarified that the majority of those onboard are Czech citizens, accompanied by several family members holding different nationalities.

"Due to the closure of the airspace, it was not possible to send a military aircraft directly to Israel. The evacuation therefore took place via one of the neighboring countries," the ministry explained, withholding the exact departure location of the Czech plane.

Evacuees were initially moved by bus to the airport in the neighboring country and then crossed the border on foot before boarding the plane.

Since Friday, airlines have been canceling flights between Prague and Tel Aviv amid the escalating conflict.

Meanwhile, on Monday night, a Slovak government aircraft landed in Bratislava carrying 73 evacuees from the Middle East crisis, including 14 Czech nationals.
