Russia Warns of Worsening Israel, Iran War
Moscow urged both nations to de-escalate the situation and seek diplomatic solutions.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, as quoted by a government-backed news agency, stated that “the situation of the conflict between Israel and Iran is on the path of galloping escalation; the level of its unpredictability is absolute.”
He stressed that Moscow is calling on both parties to demonstrate “maximum restraint” to allow for a peaceful way out of the crisis.
The hostility in the region has worsened significantly since Friday, after Israeli air raids struck multiple locations in Iran, including military compounds and atomic facilities.
These actions prompted Tehran to launch retaliatory assaults.
According to Israeli authorities, the missile attacks carried out by Iran resulted in the deaths of no fewer than 24 individuals and left hundreds wounded.
Conversely, Iranian sources reported that the Israeli bombings have led to at least 224 fatalities and injured over 1,000 people.
Russia, which has maintained diplomatic ties with both sides, has consistently offered to act as a mediator in the hopes of facilitating dialogue and ending the hostilities.
