IDF kills fifty-one Palestinians who were waiting for food supplies
This event marks one of the deadliest recent shootings near humanitarian aid locations in Gaza, which have occurred almost daily in recent times.
Eyewitnesses describe that Israeli forces launched gunfire, and artillery strikes near a key junction east of Khan Younis, where thousands of Palestinians had gathered in hopes of receiving flour supplied by a World Food Programme facility, which also operates a community kitchen in the vicinity.
Reports detail that drones operated by Israeli forces fired two missiles, shortly followed by a tank shell from a position approximately 400 to 500 meters away. These explosions inflicted numerous casualties.
The crowd was assembled near a main roadway leading to the town of Bani Suheila, a region that has experienced ongoing Israeli military activity for several weeks.
