Trump Denies Claims on Iran Nuclear Funding

(MENAFN) U.S. President Donald Trump strongly criticized the press on Friday, rejecting claims that he backs a USD30 billion proposal to help Iran establish civilian nuclear infrastructure.

"Who in the Fake News Media is the SleazeBag saying that 'President Trump wants to give Iran $30 Billion to build non-military Nuclear facilities.'"

"Never heard of this ridiculous idea. It’s just another HOAX put out by the Fake News in order to demean. These people are SICK!!!" Trump posted on Truth Social.

News outlets had reported that the Trump administration explored the possibility of offering Iran financial concessions—such as releasing billions in frozen assets—in return for halting its uranium enrichment activities, according to three individuals briefed on the matter.

On June 22, the U.S. military dropped six bunker-penetrating bombs on Iran’s Fordo nuclear site and launched numerous submarine-launched cruise missiles at two additional facilities in Natanz and Isfahan, in an ongoing effort to curb Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

A planned sixth round of negotiations between Washington and Tehran was set for June 15, but was disrupted after Israel conducted airstrikes on Iranian military, atomic, and civilian infrastructure on June 13.
