This declaration follows a warning by US President Donald Trump on Monday, who threatened to implement secondary tariffs of up to 100% on Russia’s trading partners unless there is progress toward resolving the Ukraine crisis within 50 days.
Trump also revealed that Washington intends to keep supplying weapons to Kiev through NATO, which will oversee the payment and distribution of these arms.
During a press briefing on Tuesday, Ryabkov highlighted that “any attempts to make demands, let alone issue ultimatums, are unacceptable [to Moscow].”
The high-ranking diplomat reiterated that Russia remains receptive to negotiations and considers diplomacy the preferred route.
Nevertheless, he cautioned that if Moscow’s readiness for talks is not reciprocated adequately, it will advance its goals by military means, prolonging the conflict in Ukraine.
