Russia Conducts Overnight Assault on Military Facilities in Ukraine
(MENAFN) Russian forces executed a coordinated overnight assault targeting Ukraine's military-industrial facilities and the infrastructure supporting military airfields, the Russian Defense Ministry announced Monday.
According to the ministry, the operation deployed long-range, precision-guided weaponry launched from air, land, and sea platforms. Among the weapons used were "Kinzhal" air-launched hypersonic ballistic missiles and combat drones.
At the same time, Russia's air defense systems reportedly neutralized 74 Ukrainian drones overnight, with 23 of those intercepted in the Moscow Region, the ministry added.
Due to safety concerns, airports across Moscow temporarily enforced flight restrictions early Monday. These limitations were later lifted, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency confirmed.
In a related incident, falling debris from a downed drone ignited a rooftop fire at a railway station in the village of Kamenolomni in the Rostov Region. The disruption delayed over 50 trains, according to Russian Railways.
