Cambodia’s successful anti-fraud campaign leads to more than two thousand scammers
The country’s Information Minister, who also serves on the Ad-Hoc Committee to Combat Online Scams, revealed that law enforcement has conducted coordinated raids across 52 sites spanning 15 out of the nation’s 25 provinces and cities.
"After the Royal Government issued a strict order to crack down on online scams, as of July 19, 2025, the authorities in cities and provinces had detained a total of 2,767 suspects," he said in a message shared with the media.
Authorities have confirmed that some alleged leaders of these operations are facing legal proceedings, while the majority of those arrested are expected to be deported to their countries of origin.
The large-scale campaign, launched on July 14, represents one of the country’s most aggressive efforts to combat cyber scam networks, with the aim of safeguarding national security, public order, and social stability.
