Israeli Forces Intercept Houthi Missile

(MENAFN) The Israeli military announced early Tuesday that it had intercepted a missile fired by the Houthi movement from Yemen.

In a statement posted on X, it noted that warning sirens were activated in several regions across Israel after the projectile was launched by the Houthis.

The group has not yet issued any response to the Israeli assertion.

According to Israeli data, the Houthis have fired 67 ballistic missiles and 17 drones toward Israel since March 18.

The movement has stepped up its missile and drone assaults on Israel since Israeli troops renewed their offensive on the Gaza Strip in March, following a fragile two-month truce.

Since November 2023, the Houthis have also struck commercial vessels in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Arabian Sea, declaring their actions are in support of Palestinians in Gaza, where over 60,800 people have lost their lives due to an Israeli assault.
