Israel stops drone attack from Yemen
Israeli air defense systems intercepted the drone, and no casualties or property damage have been reported. There was no immediate response from Yemen’s Houthi movement.
The incident followed a Houthi missile attack targeting Ben Gurion Airport in central Israel the previous day, which Israeli forces also intercepted.
Since November 2023, the Houthis, who control much of northern Yemen, have launched drones and missiles at Israel, citing solidarity with Palestinians during the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza. Most projectiles have been stopped by Israeli defenses. In retaliation, Israel has carried out strikes on Houthi-controlled areas, hitting airports, power facilities, and ports in Sanaa and Hodeidah.
