Drone Attack Claims Civilian’s Life in Northern Syria

(MENAFN) A deadly drone strike on Thursday claimed the life of one person in Aleppo province, northern Syria, when the unmanned aerial vehicle targeted a civilian car. The incident was confirmed by the Health Ministry.

According to a Syrian news agency, the strike occurred along a road that leads to Aleppo International Airport, a significant transportation hub in the region.

As of now, no details have been provided about the drone’s origin or the specific party responsible for the attack.

The timing of the strike is notable, coming amid ongoing efforts by the newly formed Syrian administration to assert control and maintain security across the country. These efforts are part of broader initiatives following the ousting of former President Bashar al-Assad, who was removed from power on December 8, 2024, after 24 years of rule. Despite the regime change, security challenges persist, particularly in regions like Aleppo, where the situation remains volatile.
