US, Israeli Airstrikes Target Iranian Energy Sites
In Isfahan, a natural gas management building and a gas pressure reduction facility sustained damage, affecting parts of the infrastructure as well as nearby residential areas, a news agency reported.
Meanwhile, in Khorramshahr, a natural gas pipeline connected to a power station was targeted. Officials stated that one missile struck an area outside the gas pipeline station and emphasized that no casualties occurred.
Although reports did not mention any electricity interruptions in Isfahan, Khorramshahr’s power supply reportedly continued without disruption due to ongoing mitigation efforts.
US President Donald Trump declared on Saturday that the United States would "obliterate" Iran’s power plants if Tehran did not fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping within 48 hours.
In retaliation, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that any assault on Iranian infrastructure would provoke immediate "reciprocal" attacks on regional energy networks and desalination facilities, particularly those servicing Israel or US military bases.
The recent strike occurred after Trump announced on Monday that he had ordered a five-day delay of all attacks on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure, citing “very good and productive” discussions with Tehran over the preceding 48 hours.
